Annual Christmas Bird Count
Event Details
The Christmas Bird Count (CBC) is North America's longest-running citizen science project, initiated in 1900. Each year, between December 14 and January 5, volunteers across the Western Hemisphere participate in this early winter bird survey. The data collected helps conservation biologists and environmental planners assess bird population trends and distributions. In Canada, Birds Canada oversees the CBC in partnership with the National Audubon Society.
