The Mount Kobau Star Party is scheduled from August 3 to August 11, 2024, marking its 40th anniversary. Held at the summit of Mount Kobau, just west of Osoyoos, this annual event attracts amateur astronomers and stargazers for a week of celestial observations and educational activities.

Participants can enjoy clear dark skies ideal for stargazing, along with a series of talks from notable speakers. The 2024 event features lectures on solar eclipses, large telescope construction, and astro-imaging techniques. Additionally, there will be contests for astrophotography, telescope design, and observational achievements.
